Añejo Mockingbird

Used to be this place was mostly about music and pop culture, but it's slowly morphed into a launching pad for finding our foster greyhounds new homes. So be it. We love the hounds and are more than happy to use our modest little blog page to reach out and snag some attention for these greyt dogs... Oh, we'll still post the occasional odd music review or rant at the state of the Redskins from time to time, but they'll hafta take a back seat to the dogs 'til further notice

Jules has found her forever home!

Jules has been adopted and will now be taking up residence in the Severn, Maryland area. We'll miss her spunky attitude and loving personality, but are very happy that she's found a new home to settle down in.
Good luck, Jules!

Hey, it's more snow! Jules doesn't mind.

If you're looking for a dog to take jogging or to go on long walks with, Jules could be your girl. This little girl does like to run around and engage her current housemate in running and roughhousing. Here they are egging each other on before tearing around the back yard. Jules is happy to run and she sure does like going for walks. Because of all the snow we've had the past couple of weeks, we haven't had very many opportunities to walk around the neighborhood, but Jules has certainly enjoyed romping around in our fenced-in back yard during all of this snowy weather.

As we've noted in earlier posts, Jules would make a nice addition to those looking to expand their collection of hounds. If you've got hounds who love to play and horse around amongst themselves, Jules would be a perfect fit. There's no reason to think she wouldn't make a fine jogging companion for those who might be looking for a partner to accompany them on runs. She would be a better fit in an active household where she can burn off a little energy and engage her playful side.
That's not to say she's hyper or anything; she's not. She's just a wee bit more active than some of your more passive greyhounds. This girl does like to snuggle on the couch or wherever when she gets the chance. She doesn't even mind laying in the snow after a few minutes of running and romping...

Please get in contact with Denise if you'd like to add this beautiful, engaging hound to your home.

Jules is settled in and patiently waiting...

So Jules has been here two weeks and has settled in nicely and  is patiently waiting for her forever home. This little brindle cutie is ready to walk out the door if you're ready to take her!
Jules is spunky and full of personality and should be able to transition to most home settings with no issues. She's showing no signs of the mild separation anxiety issues that cropped up in her previous home. I would still recommend apartment dwellers with no other hounds to look elsewhere be on the safe side, but she's been fine hanging here with the resident hound while we're away.
Jules is housebroken, walks well on the leash, likes to snuggle with her humans on the couch, and in short, is your typical wonderful greyhound. Jules is also cat-safe for those of you with feline companions at home.

Give Denise a shout if this happy little soul appeals to you. She's ready to go and if the picture below is any indication, she's looking through the window to see who's coming to take her home!
