Añejo Mockingbird

Used to be this place was mostly about music and pop culture, but it's slowly morphed into a launching pad for finding our foster greyhounds new homes. So be it. We love the hounds and are more than happy to use our modest little blog page to reach out and snag some attention for these greyt dogs... Oh, we'll still post the occasional odd music review or rant at the state of the Redskins from time to time, but they'll hafta take a back seat to the dogs 'til further notice

Stan: He's Got A Plan

Stan's been following a simple plan: acclimate to a normal household schedule, including regular breakfast and dinner feeding times, with strict portioning of kibble. And whattaya know? Success! In his previous home, Stan was allowed to eat whenever and however much he wanted to - never a good idea, especially with fur-covered eating machines like greyhounds - what goes in, must come out. Consequently, Stan was a pooping machine as much as he was an eating machine. Icky subject matter perhaps, but true nonetheless. I'm happy to report that Stan is back to normal with all gastrointestinal issues. In addition, Stan has put on a few pounds and is well on his way to a normal greyhound physique.Yay, Stan!
Stan remains a happy, chipper soul who enjoys lots of attention. Stan is one of those greyhounds who wants to be involved with everything going on and is always in the thick of things. He would do well in an active household with no toddlers. Stan likes kids but can get a little rambunctious when playing and roughhousing. He absolutely loves going for walks and does well on the leash. Steps are no problem for Stan. He's enjoying the household stuffies and dog beds. Stan is very good at direction, though he does have a mischievous side - he will counter-surf occasionally when food is left out. He seems to like potato bread :-)
Those you with cats take note: Stan is cat-safe!
Now that Stan has had some structure, he's doing very well and is ready for his forever home. If you're looking for a companion animal who's got a happy personality, is cat-safe, and likes to engage in activity, Stan's your man, just stick to the plan...
